Bazella W Riz

Bazella W Riz features tender peas and rice. It can be made with various types of meat, although we most often use ground beef. I traditionally serve alongside or mix with Lebanese Rice.

Ingredients

  • 1 Onion
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1 lb Ground Beef
  • 1 tsp 7 Spices
  • 2 tsp Salt
  • 1.5 tsp Cinnamon
  • 6 oz Tomato Paste
  • 6 C Water
  • 2 C Peas
  • 1 C Carrots chopped
  • 1 tsp Allspice
  • 1 clove Garlic or 1 tsp minced

Instructions

  • Firstly, using a pot you'll start by sautéing an onion over medium heat with olive oil for about 4 minutes or until translucent.
  • Next, you'll add the ground beef, 7 spices, 1 tsp salt, and 1/2 tsp cinnamon. Stir until just barely cooked. Remove from heat and set aside to add in later.
  • Wisk together the tomato paste and water. Add to the pot and turn up the heat until it boils.
  • Once it boils, turn down to medium heat and add peas, carrots, 1 tsp cinnamon, allspice, garlic and 1 tsp salt. Let simmer for 30 minutes until sauce thickens.
  • Add in meat and onion mixture and low simmer for an additional 10 minutes.
  • Serve stew over Lebanese Rice. Optional to top with chopped cilantro or parsley.
